Experience level required? Zero. If you don't have much experience, I promise by the end of the trip you'll be a professional angler. It is my job to "guide" you in a patient, professional manner while keeping it fun and engaging.
More than 4 people requires more than one boat. I will make exceptions for families of 5 (parents and 3 kids), or if you have fished with me before. 5 or 6 people plus the captain is a lot of people on a 25' boat. It is actually cheaper to utilize 2 boats for your trip. Both boats will stick together so everyone can still be together. Please understand any captain who does not take more than 4 is trying to offer your group a better experience.
Prices include bait, fuel, fish cleaning and bagging, all the ice you need during and after the trip, tackle, rods and reels, and bottled water. The only additional fee would be your fishing license. Please note that trips purchased through third party websites like Fishing Booker .com will not include bait in the price. I strongly discourage booking any trips through third party sites.
I guarantee fish. No one else wants to see you catch fish more than me. Trust me.
I do not guarantee limits, but promise I’ll give every trip 110% of my effort.
Full day trips generally last from our departure time until you are tired, we limit, or we hit the 6 – 7 hour mark. One thing to factor in if you have somewhere to be after the trip, is the boat ride back and time needed for cleaning and bagging your fillets.
We use spinning rods and reels. Most being of medium heavy action with 20lb braid and fluorocarbon. The types of rigs used depends on the time of year. By skimming through the fishing reports on this site you'll see what is used and when. Usually popping corks in shallow water and drop shots in deeper water.
I will decide if the trip should be canceled due to weather after the 6pm forecast is released the night before. A weather forecast a week away is not very reliable. The forecast here in Louisiana changes by the hour. We will not fish through lightning storms, heavy rain, or 30mph winds. Departure times can be pushed back to allow for weather to pass.
We fish from Lake Pontchartrain to the Chandeleur Sound and everything in between. We're typically fishing closer to the dock in the colder months.
